Sacked Peshawar Press Club Employee Ayub Sends Application to Human Rights Cell of PHC

Ayub Khan Afridi, who has been performing his duty as account section incharch as before reaching to this position he has also worked as canteen manager, Liberian, security system operator, has sent a letter to the Director of Human Rights Cell of Peshawar High Court seeking his help against the administration of the Club for dismissing him without reason. “I have given blood to this Press Club as I have been severely injured in the suicide attack on the club,” wrote Ayub in his appeal. The following is the full text of the letter sent to Human Rights Cell.

Mr. Director,

Human Rights Cell

Peshawar High Court Peshawar

Sir!

With respect it is stated I belong to a poor family. I have started working in Peshawar Press Club in 2009, which remained until June 2021. I have been working in various positions. These range from canteen in-charge to account matters, which are done with diligence and honesty.

* That the petitioner was dismissed without notice in the last few days, and that my thirteen years of service were rewarded by the fact that I was dismissed without notice.

* That the questioner was also injured in a suicide attack at the Peshawar Press Club in 2009 and that my right hand is paralyzed because of it.

* That despite my disability, the Peshawar Press Club did not treat me and I became permanently disabled, but I continued to work under duress.

* That now it is difficult for me to get a job due to one hand disability and in these circumstances I was made unemployed

* That all the expenses of the beggar's house were met from the salary received from the Peshawar Press Club and the continued to work for nineteen thousand rupees in thirteen years of service.

In these circumstances, you are requested to address the question and ask the elected cabinet of Peshawar Press Club in this regard. That's why the questioner was made unemployed.

Journalists cover abuses in every sector but are silent on abuses at their Peshawar Press Club. That is an abuse of the questioner.

Thanks

The questioner will be grateful to you for the rest of your life

Ayub Khan

Sacked Administrator of Peshawar Press Club

CJPs and Cricket Bats: A Comedy of Errors in Pakistani Politics

In the grand theater of Pakistani politics, where political maneuvering is as common as chai on a Lahore street corner, a new act has taken center stage. Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa, is wielding the judicial cricket bat, and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is desperately trying not to be bowled out. Picture this: a three-judge Supreme Court bench led by CJP Isa, not satisfied with the PTI's petition on "enforced disappearances." It's like a cricket match where the batsman is desperately trying to hit the googly, but the bowler is throwing legal curveballs. And guess who's in the commentary box? None other than Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, a seasoned politician and lawyer, ready to face the googlies and bouncers of justice. CJP Isa, like a stern umpire, questions Ahsan's "locus standi." It's not your everyday courtroom drama; it's a judicial power play. The CJP suggests that the petition might be for the "benefit" of a po...
