Pakistan: Riot for stopping PTI rally

The roundup of PTI workers in Lahore for violation of Article 144, Zaman Park and Mall Road were making battlegrounds. One worker was killed and several others were injured. Clashes continued throughout the day between police and Tehreek-e-Insaf workers. Baton charge, shelling and stone pelting were done. The windows of the vehicles were towed while the police detained hundreds of workers.

The Election Commission in Punjab has released the schedule of elections to be held on April 30, after which all political parties are allowed to start campaigning, but Wednesday saw a strange situation that despite the release of the election schedule, the caretaker government had announced the implementation of Section 144, after which the police in their traditional style not only used batons on PTI workers but also pelted them with batons and broke the windows of people's valuable vehicles. A worker was also killed. When the Election Commission releases the election schedule, after that every political party is allowed to run the election campaign, but the caretaker government of Punjab also banned the activities of political parties, which no law allows it. The police arrested hundreds of workers who came to Mall Road to participate in the Tehreek-e-Insaf rally. All the roads leading from Canal Road to Zaman Park were blocked. After that, the police shelled every man whoever was going that way, whether he was related to PTI or not. After this whole situation, PTI postponed the rally.

Regularly it was announced from Zaman Park that we do not want bloodshed in any way. 'Workers should withdraw peacefully. Workers are by no means agitated. Later, Imran Khan appealed to the workers to go home. If you see, the implementation of Section 144 was done to prevent Tehreek-e-Insaf from political activities. Elections are going to be held in two provinces at this time. It is unconstitutional to prevent political activities. After the announcement by the Supreme Court to hold elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PTI started campaigning, then they tried to stop its political activities by enforcing Article 144. Election date has been given on April 30 in two provinces. If you look at it, there are barely 55 days left in the elections. In these days, the candidates have to run their campaigns, hold rallies, and raise objections on each other's performance. Will the caretaker government also ban such activities of the candidates? Because there will be criticism of the federal government in the election campaign, at that time inflation has made the lives of the people miserable. Therefore, the caretaker government has come for the purpose of let him do the same thing. His job is to ensure the transparency of the election. But the caretaker government has not paid attention to this aspect yet, they have started exchanging dozens of government employees every day. The job of caretaker government is only to ensure clean and fair elections, but what is being done is against the rule of law, constitution and democracy.

Currently, 77 cases have been registered against Imran Khan, the leader of the largest opposition party in the country. While elections are also going to be held in two provinces, in these circumstances they will get guarantees from the courts or run an election campaign. A case has been registered in Quetta's Bijli Road police station two days ago. The petition states that Imran Khan has made baseless allegations against state institutions, in this case Sections 153A, 124A, Sedition, Hate Speech, Defamatory Speech, Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016. 505 have been added.

The purpose of these cases is only to drag the leader of the opposition party to the courts so that he cannot do his work with sincerity. Do this, so that no political party can accuse the caretaker governments and the federal government of influencing the election. The unpleasant incident that took place last day, in which a young man has also died, therefore the caretaker chief minister of Punjab was in turmoil. Ensure a clear and transparent investigation into the alleged death of the youth immediately. A judicial inquiry should be conducted in this regard, on which no one will have any objection. He was left in the hospital. When the government has the resources, they should investigate him. During media coverage of PTI's rally and women's rally in Islamabad yy, journalists were tortured. The chief minister and the information minister, the violence against journalists is even more alarming. In the past, Shireen Rehman resigned from the ministry for stopping the broadcast of a channel, see, maybe someone's conscience will wake up.

CJPs and Cricket Bats: A Comedy of Errors in Pakistani Politics

In the grand theater of Pakistani politics, where political maneuvering is as common as chai on a Lahore street corner, a new act has taken center stage. Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa, is wielding the judicial cricket bat, and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is desperately trying not to be bowled out. Picture this: a three-judge Supreme Court bench led by CJP Isa, not satisfied with the PTI's petition on "enforced disappearances." It's like a cricket match where the batsman is desperately trying to hit the googly, but the bowler is throwing legal curveballs. And guess who's in the commentary box? None other than Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, a seasoned politician and lawyer, ready to face the googlies and bouncers of justice. CJP Isa, like a stern umpire, questions Ahsan's "locus standi." It's not your everyday courtroom drama; it's a judicial power play. The CJP suggests that the petition might be for the "benefit" of a po...
