Pakistan: New alignment preparations

It feels like the horn of birds returning to their nests have been sounded and every corner of Pakistani politics is preparing to play its part and return to its nest or abode. Despite the PDM government, the Muslim League-N announced preparations for the elections. Despite being an ally, the PPP has refused to accept the digital census against its own government's decision. The MQM has also started giving indications of a solo flight and calling Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as a debtor, has demanded him to come to Karachi and give assurances. The PTI, which has been demanding early elections for ten months, is preparing to go to the polls after various forces paved the way for the elections.

PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman has suggested that elections should be held after the census, targeting General Faiz Hameed and saying that Saqib Nisar and Faiz Hameed are lobbying for Imran. They should be reined in and institutions should take notice. That is, now PDM is demanding the role of the army in politics. All these indications are indicating that all of them have been tipped to go for fresh elections. If you look at national politics, Pakistan People's Party often tries to enter the elections without forming any alliance. Sometimes electoral alliances are formed in such a way that they have the decisive position and then after the election they also get full support from all the powerful forces in the formation of the government.

Like the first election after the departure of General Ayub and General Zia or the election after the departure of General Pervez, perhaps that is why the People's Party joined the PDM and distanced itself from it so that it would be easier for it to fly alone. MQM is flying alone and the reason for this is its strong connections with powerful circles, it easily obeys their every order. At this time, it is felt that the Muslim League and the PPP are preparing to enter the field separately because the senior leadership of both has fielded their own new generation leaders. It is likely to happen.

Imran Khan is gradually making such mistakes that his grip on the party may weaken. As a political organization, the Q-League will also benefit from making Parvez Elahi the party president. Now the field is being prepared in such a way that Muslim League, PTI and PPP are all expressing their desire for good relations with the establishment which is not a good tradition for any political party. A day ago, Miftah Ismail said that the role of the army should be reduced in politics, but the next day's newspapers were full of praise for the institutions of these three forces. They understand very well that the role of institutions in politics harms the country, but they all give the institutions the opportunity to enter politics for the sake of their government and their power.

Apparently, the army has not yet expressed support or opposition to anyone but the fact is that everyone still believes that it is not aloof from politics. Perhaps the purpose of this silence is that over the past year, the army has become the subject of discussion and the target of criticism like never before, supporting or opposing any force will pave the way for more negative propaganda about it. Political groups should also call the people instead of calling the army and institutions and the people should also show awareness now. How long will they continue running behind speeches, claims and promises? The stance taken by the PPP is a straightforward Sindh card.

It has refused to accept the digital census as Sindhi nationalists have called it controversial and alleged that the census is being conducted at the behest of the MQM. In fact, this voice was raised by Jamaat-e-Islami, the issue started with the counting of Karachi and there was a disturbance in the entire province, especially in the cities of Sindh. But opposition to digital census also means denying people the right to count themselves. Because they know that when the people will do their own counting, the number of digital census takers in a city like Karachi is more, so they will complete their counting. Asif Zardari has also categorically announced that he will participate in the elections. This has also exposed the ambitions of the PPP. There was no doubt that the PDM was a ploy to oust the PTI government and nothing else. This movement is not democratic. As far as imported and selected are concerned, there is neither imported nor selected, they are all established, whatever is required is established. Now the new game will be played which is more capable of fulfilling the need will come out ahead. However, if the grip is loosened somewhere, a public representative will also reach the assembly because the people are not aware and ready for their right. If they use their awareness, the establishment will fail despite all the force.

CJPs and Cricket Bats: A Comedy of Errors in Pakistani Politics

In the grand theater of Pakistani politics, where political maneuvering is as common as chai on a Lahore street corner, a new act has taken center stage. Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa, is wielding the judicial cricket bat, and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is desperately trying not to be bowled out. Picture this: a three-judge Supreme Court bench led by CJP Isa, not satisfied with the PTI's petition on "enforced disappearances." It's like a cricket match where the batsman is desperately trying to hit the googly, but the bowler is throwing legal curveballs. And guess who's in the commentary box? None other than Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, a seasoned politician and lawyer, ready to face the googlies and bouncers of justice. CJP Isa, like a stern umpire, questions Ahsan's "locus standi." It's not your everyday courtroom drama; it's a judicial power play. The CJP suggests that the petition might be for the "benefit" of a po...
